Ogun govt frowns at Portable’s rascality
The Ogun State Government has condemned the “rascality” of hip-hop artiste Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, for his behaviour towards officials of the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority, OGPDPA, at his bar in Iyana Ilogbo, Ota.
Portable, who is currently at large, allegedly unlawfully restricted, obstructed, and assaulted town planners Ramon Lateef, Akinpelumi Oyero, and Abidemi Onabanjo while they were performing their duties.
Nine of his associates―Oluwaseun Ayenuwa, 19; Precious Ohiegebo, 19; Oluwapelumi Adeosun, 20; Gospel Kanu, 20; Nurudeen Warris, 21; Adetola Alashe, 25; Fatimo Muhammed, 26; Ifeoluwa Babatunde, 27; and Samuel Adeleke, 28―were arraigned before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court on Thursday for allegedly assaulting the officials. They face charges including armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, and intent to kill. Bail was set at N5 million each.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, described Portable as a “serial dissident and unrepentant rascal” who habitually assaults government officials without provocation.
Akinmade said the “indecent act” would be addressed according to the law. He added that Portable’s actions are becoming “shameful and intolerable” to locals and the government, given the “chaos and fear” he incites.
He emphasised the Abiodun administration’s commitment to ridding the state of illegal activities and establishing morality.
“We are profoundly taken aback by the unpleasant and uncivil act of the hip-hop artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, on Wednesday, in the Iyana-Ilogbo area of the State where his bar is located,” the statement said.
“The way in which Portable and some miscreants he employed in the dastardly act attacked the officials of the OGPDPA is not only bizarre but a confirmation of the erosion of Omoluabi ethos in those individuals and indeed a great disgrace to the state.
“Governor Dapo Abiodun totally condemned this primitive and indecent act and reiterated his avowed commitment to a just and egalitarian society as he is ready to make any individual flouting the extant law of the land face the full wrath of the law irrespective of social status and influence,” the statement concluded.

This is what a submarine implosion looks like after all 5 died instantly on the Titanic Exploration
Video of what a submarine implosion looks like has been shared online
after Titanic five died instantly when the submersible suffered
‘catastrophic implosion’ 1,600ft.
An implosion is like a bomb.
The vessel would have been crushed in a matter of milliseconds. It
occurs if any part of the submersible’s carbon fibre and titanium hull
has suffered a small crack or fault as seen in this video.
On Sunday 18 June, the tourist submarine, a 21ft submersible operated
by OceanGate Expeditions went missing after contact with the vessel was
lost around an hour and 45 minutes after it submerged.
Search and
rescue officials say the men likely died on Sunday – before military
planes using sonar buoys detected what they thought could have been SOS
‘banging’ sounds in the water.
The victims are OceanGate CEO
Stockton Rush, French Navy veteran Paul-Henri (PH) Nargeolet, British
billionaire Hamish Harding, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, and
his son Suleman, who was just 19.
‘The implosion would have
generated a significant, broadband sound that the sonar buoys would have
picked up,’ explained Rear Admiral John Mauger of the US Coast Guard at
a press conference today.
In a heartbreaking tribute, Richard
Garriott, president of the Explorers Club, of which Harding and
Nargeolet were both members, said that the men had been drawn to explore
‘in the name of meaningful science for the betterment of mankind.’
‘Our
hearts are broken. I am so sorry to have to share this tragic news,’
Garriott announced. He said the club was ‘grateful for all our members
and the scientific and exploration community around the world who have
mobilized personnel and resources to support the search and rescue’.
Garriott
described Harding as a ‘dear friend’ to himself and the club. ‘He holds
several world records and has continued to push dragons off maps both
in person and through supporting expeditions and worthy causes,’ he
wrote.
‘We’re heartbroken for the families, friends and colleagues
of those who were lost. Their memories will be a blessing and will
continue to inspire us in the name of science and exploration,’ Garriott
said.

Nigerians have lashed out at President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu after his long convoy of cars was spotted in Lagos on Tuesday.
The convoy was spotted after Tinubu arrived in the state yesterday
from his private visit to London after a successful outing at the Paris
Finance Summit.
Multiple SUVs queue behind each other speeding ahead and behind the president’s official car as he was escorted home yesterday.
Nigerians who saw clip of the convoy condemned the president for such display at a time Nigerians are in deep suffering.
